ANADIGICS Begins Production Shipments of WLAN PAs to a Leading Supplier of WLAN Chipsets for PC Notebooks

Industry Leader in Mobile and Desktop PC Processors Selects ANADIGICS' InGaP HBT PAs for Highly Adopted WLAN PC Notebook Platform

WARREN, N.J., March 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ANADIGICS, Inc. , a leading supplier of wireless and broadband solutions, announced today that it has begun shipping InGaP HBT WLAN power amplifiers (PA) to a leading supplier of WLAN chipsets for PC notebooks. ANADIGICS' RFS P2023 power amplifier was selected because it achieves higher power efficiencies in all operating modes compared to other WLAN PAs on the market, which ensures greater data throughput and longer WLAN system battery life.

"These production orders demonstrate that leading players in the WLAN industry confirm the advantages of our WLAN technology," said Ron Michels, Vice President of Broadband Products for ANADIGICS, Inc. "Adoption of WLAN by laptop PC and notebook manufacturers is driving WLAN market growth and ANADIGICS' InGaP HBT power amplifier products are at the forefront of this growing segment of the market. We are proud to support the leading providers of mobile technology for the WLAN PC market and we are well positioned for continued success in WLAN."

By minimizing radio frequency (RF) sensitivity in the WLAN system manufacturing process, the ANADIGICS RFS P2023 enables a trouble-free transition into high-volume production. The RFS P2023 is designed to achieve maximum linearity and efficiency for IEEE 802.11b and 802.11g standards to improve the range of WLAN networks while increasing battery life. The PA meets all 802.11b adjacent channel power ratio requirements at +23 dBm output while drawing only 220 mA of current. For 802.11g, the PA achieves less than 3% EVM at an output power of +19 dBm and current consumption of 145 mA. The RFS P2023 is fabricated in a small 3mm x 3 mm LPCC package and operates from a single +3.3V power supply.
